This piece is an experimental visualizer for Joji’s song “Before the Day is Over”. The song describes wanting someone to let you into their life before it is too late and you lose them forever. I wanted the text to be disrupted by the visuals to invoke a sense of urgency in the viewers. The text is only on screen for a short period of time before it is completely swallowed by the lights.

I created the visuals using various textures and moving spotlights in an attempt to replicate practical effects. The color palette sticks to cooler tones with various grainy textures on top to replicate the somber, soft mood of the song.
