This project is a redesign of the main on end for The Iron Giant (1999). The constraints for this redesign were keeping the original music as well as pacing for the credits.

After watching The Iron Giant for the first time, I was inspired by the use of light to drive the story and emphasize key moments. From the Giant’s eyes, to Hogarth’s flashlight, light is used as a symbol throughout the entire film. I aimed to use various forms of light throughout the film to retell pieces of the story.

The ever changing orchestral music allowed me to convey the vast variety of emotions portrayed in the film. Anger, fear, curiosity, triumph all represented by light.
